Jasper vs Writesonic (2026): Brand Content or AI Search Visibility?

Quick answerJasper is the better choice for marketing teams that mainly need on-brand content, starting at $59 per seat a month billed annually. Writesonic is the better choice for SEO teams that want to track brand visibility in AI search tools alongside article generation, starting at $79 a month billed annually.

Jasper and Writesonic used to be direct rivals: two AI writing tools for marketers, priced against each other. In 2026 they have drifted apart. Jasper has doubled down on being a marketing content platform with brand controls and workflow agents. Writesonic has rebuilt itself around AI search visibility, often called GEO (generative engine optimization), with article writing and site audits bundled in.

That makes this less a question of which writes better and more a question of which job you need done. We compared them using each vendor’s pricing page, both checked today, plus recent independent pricing coverage and our published rubric. This is a research-based comparison, not a hands-on test, so we don’t publish output-quality ratings or speed figures.

Both sets of prices come from the vendors’ own pricing pages. The headline numbers, per month:

TierJasper (annual / monthly)Writesonic (annual / monthly)
EntryPro: $59 / $69 per seatStarter: $79 / about $99
MidNoneBasic: $199 / about $249
UpperNoneGrowth: $399 / about $499
TopBusiness: custom, 12-month minimumEnterprise: custom

Writesonic’s pricing page shows only annual prices. The monthly figures above are implied by the annual savings it lists ($240, $600 and $1,200 a year) and match the “from $99” figure in the page’s own description and recent third-party coverage. Treat them as approximate and check at checkout; one independent reviewer reported seeing a higher price inside the sign-up flow than on the public page.

Three things stand out.

  • Jasper is cheaper for one person. Pro at $59 a month annually undercuts Writesonic Starter by $20 a month.
  • Writesonic is more transparent for small teams. Basic includes 2 users and Growth includes 3, with extra users at $50 each up to 5. Jasper Pro includes 1 seat, and its FAQ points you to sales for more users.
  • Both lock you in on annual billing. Jasper’s annual plan has a 12-month commitment, and recent coverage reports that Writesonic’s annual plans auto-renew with a one-year minimum.

What Jasper is built for

Jasper is a content platform for marketing teams. Its pricing page lists these on Pro:

  • Canvas, the main workspace for creating on-brand content.
  • Agents for core marketing workflows, such as drafting and repurposing campaign content.
  • 2 Brand Voices, so output follows your style guide.
  • 5 Knowledge assets, which can include product docs and other reference material.
  • 3 Audiences, which tailor messaging to defined customer segments.

Business, which is quote-only, adds unlimited Brand Voices, Knowledge and Audiences, a no-code builder for custom agents, Jasper Grid for running content at scale, API access, admin controls and Groups, and agents for complex workflows including GEO, translations and deep research.

Jasper doesn’t cap words or articles on its pricing page. What it limits on Pro is the brand setup: two voices and three audiences is enough for a single brand, but agencies or multi-brand companies will run into it quickly.

What Writesonic is built for

Writesonic now leads with AI search visibility: it tracks a set of prompts you choose and records how AI assistants answer them, so you can see whether and how your brand is mentioned. Every plan also includes AI article generation and technical site audits.

Per Writesonic’s pricing page:

  • Starter ($79): 1 user, 1 project, 50 prompts tracked, 15 AI articles a month, 10 site audits of up to 100 pages each.
  • Basic ($199): 2 users, 100 prompts and 300 answers tracked daily, 25 articles, 20 audits of up to 1,200 pages.
  • Growth ($399): 3 users, 2 projects, 200 prompts, 50 articles, 50 audits of up to 2,500 pages, plus sentiment analysis and a limited trial of its Action Center recommendations.
  • Enterprise: custom limits and full agent access.

The detail to read carefully is platform coverage. On Starter, Basic and Growth, tracking covers ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. Perplexity, Claude, Grok, Microsoft Copilot, Google AI Mode and others are listed only on Enterprise. If your audience relies heavily on Perplexity or Copilot, the self-serve plans won’t show you that picture.

Agent runs on the self-serve plans are also described as trial runs (10, 50 and 100), so don’t buy Writesonic expecting unlimited agent automation below Enterprise.

Content volume: where Writesonic’s caps bite

Writesonic counts articles. Fifteen a month on Starter is roughly one every other day; 50 on Growth suits a steady blog program but not a high-volume content operation. Growth customers can add 20 articles for $100 a month, which works out to $5 an article.

Jasper’s pricing page doesn’t publish an article or word cap on Pro. If your team produces a lot of short-form marketing copy, emails and social posts, that structure fits better than a monthly article allowance. If you produce a modest number of SEO articles and care about AI search rankings, Writesonic’s allowance may be all you need.

Jasper: best for on-brand marketing content

Jasper scores higher on features (8.5 to 8), ease of use (8 to 7.5), support (8 to 7) and value (7 to 6.5), and slightly higher on pricing (6.5 to 6). Its strengths are the brand controls and a simple two-plan lineup.

The trade-offs: no free plan, a single seat on Pro, and quote-only Business pricing with a 12-month minimum. Solo writers who don’t need brand voice controls will usually get more for their money from a general assistant; see our ChatGPT review and Claude review.

Writesonic: best for AI search visibility plus content

Writesonic is the more specialized product. For an SEO lead who wants to know how AI assistants talk about their brand, and wants articles and audits in the same subscription, it’s one of the few tools that packages all three at a published price.

The downsides: a higher entry price than it used to have, article caps, trial-limited agent runs, and the fact that most AI platforms are tracked only on Enterprise.

Final verdict

Jasper is the better pick for marketing teams whose main job is producing on-brand content, and it’s cheaper to start at $59 per seat a month on annual billing. Writesonic is the better pick for SEO and growth teams that want to measure AI search visibility and produce a modest number of articles in the same tool.

On our rubric, Jasper leads in every category, mainly on ease of use, support and value. That reflects how well each product does what it sets out to do at its price, not which has the more fashionable feature. If AI search tracking is the reason you’re shopping, Writesonic is the one built for it; trial it first, and confirm the monthly price at checkout before committing to a year.

FAQ

Is Jasper or Writesonic better?

They now solve different problems. Jasper is a marketing content platform built around brand voice, audiences and workflow agents. Writesonic has repositioned around AI search visibility, tracking how ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews mention your brand, with article generation and site audits included. Pick the one that matches your main job.

Which is cheaper, Jasper or Writesonic?

Jasper has the lower entry price: Pro is $59 per seat a month billed annually, or $69 monthly. Writesonic Starter is $79 a month billed annually, and its savings figures imply about $99 on monthly billing. For three people, Writesonic Growth at $399 a month annually includes three users, while Jasper’s extra seats require contacting sales.

Does Jasper or Writesonic have a free plan?

Neither has a permanent free plan. Jasper offers a 7-day free trial of Pro. Writesonic’s pricing page says you can try it with no credit card and offers a 7-day refund, but does not state a trial length.

Can Writesonic still write blog posts?

Yes. Every Writesonic plan includes a monthly allowance of AI articles: 15 on Starter, 25 on Basic and 50 on Growth. Growth customers can buy 20 more articles for $100 a month. If you need far more articles than that, the caps matter more than the headline price.

Does Jasper track AI search visibility?

Jasper’s Business plan lists agents for complex marketing workflows, including GEO. It does not publish a prompt-tracking dashboard with per-plan limits the way Writesonic does, and Business pricing is quote-only, so ask Jasper’s sales team what GEO coverage includes before you compare.
